The Australian National University is delighted to present the Whitworth Roach Classical Music Performance Competition to be awarded in 2018 at the School of Music.
The Whitworth-Roach Classical Music Performance Competition occurs annually and is open to all ANU students. The competition has a First Prize of $10,000; Second Prize $5,000; Third Prize $2,500; and People’s Choice Prize of $2,500. With $20,000 in prizes, the opportunity for musicians from across the campus to enter this competition for the chance to win such generous prize money, makes this an important highlight in the University’s calendar.

In addition to the prize-pool, the supporting endowment generously donated by Ms Christine Roach also makes provision for the ANU School of Music to invite musicians of international acclaim to visit the university in the week of the competition each year. The musicians will contribute to the educational and outreach programs of the School as well as act as competition judges. The School of Music is proud to welcome the Acacia Quartet as guest artists for the Competition. Members of the Quartet, Lisa Stewart and Stefan Duwe, will also be guest adjudicators for the Competition.
